Senior Engineer / Engineer – Probiotic for Cosmetic & Food (Ref. 19045)
Duties The focus of this position is to conduct applied research that translates to development of probiotic cosmetic products and some food and beverage applications. The appointee will be responsible for R&D work, including experimental design, laboratory equipment operation, sample preparation, properties characterization, data analysis, performance testing, drafting proposals, reports, SOP and IP documents, in the following areas:
  • Utilize traditional microbial plating techniques, as well as molecular biology techniques to quantify and characterize probiotics;
  • Independently perform laboratory experiments to assess the stability and in vitro characterization of probiotic bacteria;
  • Incubate idea to explore the opportunity of cooperation with industry partners;
  • Collaborate with other research staff on R&D work;
  • Facilitate the daily operations of the laboratory; and
  • Involve in marketing activities.
Requirements
  • Master or Ph.D. degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Food Science, Food Technology, Biology or related disciplines;
  • Experience in cosmetic or food and beverage industry is an advantage;
  • Good command of English and Chinese, articulate report writing/presentation skills;
  • Self-motivated, work independently and able to communicate in teamwork;
  • Positive, analytical, critical thinking and good troubleshooting skill;
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills for balancing multiple projects simultaneously; and
  • Candidates with less working experiences will be considered as Engineers.
