Technical Manager / Project Leader – Battery Technology Development (Ref. 18022)
Duties The appointees will be responsible for new materials development for lithium battery related technologies. His/her core duties include:
  • Incubate new technologies related to new generation lithium ion batteries;
  • Lead a professional research team to implement the lithium ion battery and primary battery related projects;
  • Build clients' accounts and manage strategic partnership. Expand collaboration network with energy storage industries;
  • Responsible for project incubations, project proposals, project milestones and reports/presentations;
  • Responsible for ad hoc tasks assigned by supervisors; and
  • Any other duties as required.
Requirements
  • PhD in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, or related areas is required;
  • Strong academic experience in materials synthesis, characterization and application;
  • 5 years or above post-graduation R&D experience in lithium ion battery industries (Less experience will be considered as Project Leader);
  • Familiar with the lithium battery industrial manufacturing process;
  • Expert in battery related materials and their properties, characterization and/or process development;
  • Positive, cheerful, creative, critical thinking and good troubleshooting skills;
  • Ability to initiate and work independently, yet able to lead a team of research staff;
  • Must have a sense of ownership for his/her work;
  • Good people and communication skills; and
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
Salary and Benefits Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Medical and dental benefits as well as annual leave will be provided. Appointment will be offered on a contract basis, renewable subject to mutual agreement and performance.
