Senior Engineer / Engineer – Organic Synthesis (Ref. 20007)
Duties
The appointee will work on the development of organic functional materials; he/she will work in a dynamic team which is responsible for:
  • Design and synthesis of organic material and integration to ink formulations/polymer;
  • Optimize the ink formulations for offset/inkjet/silk screen printing;
  • Characterization and testing of optical and structural properties of materials;
  • Testing of performance of the material that is tailored-made to the requirements of industrial partners;
  • Support scale up and commercialization of all R&D results for industrial partners;
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations in timely manner;
  • Meet all project timelines and milestones;
  • Support the incubation of ideas to explore new cooperation opportunities with industrial partners; and
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
  • MPhil or above in Material Chemistry, preferably with specialization in organic synthesis (knowledge and hands on experience of photochromic materials development would be an advantage);
  • Hands on experience in organic molecules/polymer synthesis;
  • Solid hands-on experiences in laboratory and work; experience in supporting scale-up process is an added advantage;
  • Competent in technical writing and reporting;
  • Ability to initiate and work independently;
  • Good team player with strong problem-solving and communications skills; creative in generating/incubating new ideas;
  • Adaptable to different technology areas and having a proactive growth mindset;
  • Fluent in spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese); ability to speak Mandarin is an advantage; and
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered as Engineer.
