Senior Engineer / Engineer – Organic Chemistry (Ref. 20001)
Duties The appointee will mainly work on the development of polymer aerogel and micro-foaming materials, which can be used as sound absorption and thermal insulation materials et al. He/she will work in a dynamic and efficient team which is responsible for R&D work, including experimental design, laboratory equipment operation, sample preparation, properties characterization, data analysis, performance testing, drafting proposals / meeting slides / reports / SOP / IP documents, in the following areas:
  • Relate the structures to functional properties so as to understand origin of the long-standing problems in materials field;
  • Collaborating with other research staff on R&D work;
  • Collect and analyze experimental data, prepare research publications, and communicate results at professional meetings;
  • Characterizations and testing at different process stages and evaluating the material performance;
  • Scaling up process for trial production; and
  • Performing other duties assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
  • PhD degree in Organic Chemistry, Chemistry, Materials or related field. Fresh graduate will also be considered;
  • Solid experience in organic reactions, compounds design, synthesis, purification and characterization;
  • Extensive knowledge in organic chemistry and materials science;
  • Familiar with data acquisition and image simulation software (For example: Gauss, ChemDraw and NMR et al.);
  • Work independently and able to communicate in teamwork; and
  • Good command of English and Chinese, articulate report writing/presentation skills as well as abilities in literature/patent search.
